Your credit score is a number that is calculated based on your credit history such as credit cards, loans, and mortgage history that is used to predict the likelihood that you will default on a debt. Your credit score can be between 300 – 850.
Enacted in 1970 by the United States Federal Government (15 U.S.C. § 1681), this legislation is meant to protect consumers and making sure their information being reporting to credit reporting agencies is private, accurate, and fair.
The 3 main credit reporting agencies are Equifax, Transunion, and Experian.
We recommend 3rd party credit monitoring sites. We do not recommend sites that provide credit reports for free because they typically do not include all 3 credit bureaus.
Each credit bureau has access to different information. As a result, different information creates different scores. The advantage of a 3-bureau report is readily identifying discrepancies: just because you don’t have a collection on one report doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist if another bureau is reporting that collection.
The difference between your credit score on a monitoring site versus what a lender will check is that random sites may use scores from one or two bureaus, but they might not have your score from all three credit bureaus. In addition, a lender will count paid collections against your score whereas a credit monitoring site might not.
Different credit monitoring services use different scoring systems and algorithms which is also a reason why the scores are different.
No, but if it is past the statute of limitations for the creditor to file a lawsuit it will be much harder for them to try to collect it from you.
NO! One of the biggest misconceptions among customers is that paying a collection will cause the score to go up. This is not true. In fact, your score is likely to go down.
The cost depends on your credit score. A lot of factors go into determining the price the type of accounts you have along with the number of negatives accounts inquiries etc its best to go through the free consultation to get a price based on your specific situation.
It just depends on how fast the credit bureaus respond credit repair takes time and we don’t guarantee you a specific date you will be finished
